Selling bangles online from Karachi: sizes, sets and festive seasons

How Karachi bangle sellers can list glass, metal and fancy bangles online, explain sizes clearly, pack fragile sets and prepare for Chand Raat and weddings.

Few sounds are as festive in Karachi as the soft clink of bangles. On Chand Raat, markets across the city stay open late, and women and girls queue at bangle stalls to choose sets that match their Eid outfits. At weddings, mehndi ceremonies are full of colourful glass bangles. Bangles are given as gifts, collected in every colour and worn for almost every celebration.

Karachi has a long tradition of bangle selling, from small stalls in busy markets to shops with walls covered in colour. Many of these sellers now want to reach customers online, especially those who cannot visit the market or who live in other cities. This post explains how to sell bangles online well, with a focus on the questions that matter most: sizes, sets, packaging and seasons.

Start with sizes, because they cause most problems

Bangle size is the single biggest source of confusion when buying online. A customer who chooses the wrong size cannot wear the bangles, and returns are a hassle for everyone.

Most Pakistani bangle sellers use sizes such as 2.2, 2.4, 2.6, 2.8 and 2.10, based on the inner diameter in inches. Explain this clearly on every product.

SizeApproximate inner diameter
2.2Around 2.1 inches
2.4Around 2.25 inches
2.6Around 2.4 inches
2.8Around 2.5 inches
2.10Around 2.6 inches

Measurements vary between makers, so check your own stock and write your actual measurements. Add a simple tip for customers: "Measure the inside of a bangle you already own that fits well, and choose the closest size."

In Krobr, size can be a variant on each product, with its own stock level. The variants and stock guide shows how to set it up.

Sell sets, not single bangles

Customers usually buy bangles in sets, often a dozen or two dozen, sometimes with matching kara or fancy bangles mixed in. Online, sets are much easier to buy than single pieces.

  • Glass bangle sets by colour, such as two dozen red bangles.
  • Mixed sets with glass and fancy bangles together.
  • Bridal sets with heavier, decorated bangles.
  • Kids' sets in smaller sizes.

Colour can be a variant alongside size. For example, a glass bangle set might come in eight colours and five sizes, each combination with its own stock count.

Photos that show colour and sparkle

Bangles are all about colour and shine. Photos need to show both.

  1. Photograph sets in daylight on a plain background.
  2. Show them stacked as they would be worn, and spread out to show each piece.
  3. Add a photo on a wrist so customers can judge size and look.
  4. Show close ups of any stones, glitter or metal work.

Keep colours accurate. Customers often match bangles to a specific outfit, and a shade that looks different in person will disappoint. Our post on product photos with your phone has practical tips.

Organise collections by occasion and colour

Customers shop for bangles in two main ways: by occasion and by colour. Create collections for both.

  • Eid and Chand Raat
  • Bridal and mehndi
  • Everyday wear
  • Kids
  • Colour collections, such as reds, greens, golds and pastels

The products and collections guide explains how to create them.

Packaging fragile glass

Glass bangles break easily. A broken set means a disappointed customer and a lost sale.

  1. Wrap each set tightly in paper or bubble wrap so the bangles cannot move.
  2. Place sets upright in a sturdy box, not a soft mailer bag.
  3. Fill empty space in the box with paper.
  4. Mark the box as fragile.

Metal and fancy bangles are sturdier, but they still benefit from neat packing in small pouches or boxes.

Chand Raat and the Eid rush

Chand Raat is the biggest night of the year for bangle sellers in Karachi. Online, the rush starts earlier, as customers order in the days before Eid to make sure they receive their bangles in time.

  • Upload Eid sets early, ideally in the middle of Ramadan.
  • Check stock daily for popular colours and sizes. Krobr warns you when stock runs low, and the Stock app on your phone lets you update counts quickly.
  • Set a clear last order date for delivery before Eid, and mention it on your store.
  • Snooze sets that sell out, so customers do not order something you cannot deliver. The item availability guide explains how.

Wedding season

Weddings bring large orders for matching bangle sets for brides, bridesmaids and family. These can be valuable orders.

  • Offer bulk sets for mehndi and wedding functions.
  • Let customers choose colours to match their theme.
  • Accept bank transfer for large orders, so payment is confirmed before you pack. The bank payment guide explains how.

Pricing and promotions

Bangles are usually affordable, so each order has a small value. Encourage bigger orders.

  • Offer a discount on two or more sets.
  • Use a tiered quantity promotion, such as more off when buying more sets.
  • Set a minimum basket for free or reduced delivery.

Our post on promotions that protect profit explains how to set these up without losing money.

Delivery and payment

Offer cash on delivery, which most customers buying bangles expect. Deliver across Karachi and, through couriers, to other cities. Set your delivery areas and charges in Krobr. The delivery coverage guide shows how.

In short

Bangles are a joyful product with a strong festive season. Explain sizes clearly with real measurements, sell sets in colours and sizes as variants, photograph colour and sparkle honestly, organise collections by occasion and colour and pack glass very carefully. Prepare early for Chand Raat, take wedding orders with advance payment and encourage bigger orders with smart promotions. For more on handling variants, read our post on sizes, colours and stock.
